Biography
Sophia Rahel was born about 1754. Behrens (or Behrends) was actually not her birth name but the name of her first husband, the soldier Johann Hinrich Behrens, who presumably died. In 1790, she married the thrice widowed Peter Daniel Stegen with whom she had two children, the second of whom was the Lüneburg heroine Johanna Stegen. Sophia Rahel passed away in 1814.
