She lived at Klipdrift when she married in 1875. On 12 Aug 1901 she entered the Mafeking Refugee Camp with her children. They came from the farm Witkraal near Geysdorp in the Lichtenburg district. Johanna died of fever and dysentery whilst there on the 16 Dec 1901.
