Biography
John was born in 1774 in Chesterfield, Virginia, the son of Isham Edwin Belcher and Mary Elizabeth Clay.
He married Martha Johnston on 25 Oct 1794 in Washington County, Virginia.[1]
Sometime between 1820 and 1830 he moved to Indiana, since the 1820 Census shows him in Virginia and the 1830 Census shows him in Indiana.[2][3]
He passed away in 1838 in Crawford, Indiana.

Belcher-1984 and Belcher-264 are not ready to be merged because: First speaking for myself add hopefully other profiles managers, thank you for a reminder- but as noted in the body of at least one of the profiles and by the 20 year birth gao, different father and different siblings...work needs to be done to put the correct data with man who married Martha and figure out if his mother had two husband's etc. Often we get busy and forget about these things but these are in no shape to be merged as it stands. Too much conflicting data and a mess of relatives. Thanks! Becky Elizabeth
