GUILLAUME BELEC Status : Immigrant
Guillaume was born around 1663 in Plouvien (St-Pol-de-Léon diocese), Brittany, France. He went to New France for a better life in 1684. When Guillaume arrived in New France, Batiscan, the port that was located at the mouth of the river and small Village Station were at the heart of economic activity. After marriage, Paul Bertrand moved in the house of Guillaume Le Bellec, close to the "great land of Massicotte," on the north bank of the Batiscan River, between the houses of Mathurin Rivard dit Feuilleverte and Jacques Rouillard dit Saint-Cyr. However, the husband of Gabrielle Baribault obtained in the official title on July 24, 1708. On that date, Pierre Lafond dit Mongrain, on behalf of Father Pierre Raffeix, Attorney Jesuit lords, give him a land of four acres of front. From this union will be born eight children.
August 4, 1710, Gabrielle Baribeau will be obliged to make an inventory of goods from William the Bellet Bélec in order to facilitate minor children of the latter.
