Isidore Germain dit Belisle was born and baptized on 24 Feb 1816 in Saint-Joseph parish in Deschambault, Portneuf. He was the son of François Belisle and his wife Marie Louise Gignac. Godparents at Isidore's baptism were Augustin Richard and Marie Louise Arcand. At age 27 Isidore married first wife Camille Paquet on 23 Jan 1844 in Saint-Charles parish in Grondines, Portneuf. There were four known children born into this marriage. Camille died in 1848 after the birth of their daughter Adele. At age 43 Isidore married second wife Adélaïde Arcand on 14 Aug 1849 in Saint-Charles parish. There were nine children born into this marriage. Isidore died at age 75 on 22 Nov 1891 in Deschambault; he was buried two days later on 24 Nov in Saint-Joseph parish cemetery in Deschambault.
