He departed this life on Oct 23, 1945 at the home of his daughter, Mrs Glenn Clague, near Earlham, IA. His entire life was spent in Madison Co. IA. On Dec 26, 1897, he was united in marriage to Jennie Stout of Paterson, IA. To this union 5 children, Robert James, Marian Elizabeth, Mary Gladys who preceded him in death; Mrs Glenn Clague of Earlham, IA and Alma Bell of Washington D.C., who survive him. Mr Bell united with the Methodist church in Patterson many years ago and remained a member until his death. Others who survive him are his 7 grandchildren; Thomas E.; Mary Belle and Ruth Clague of Earlham, IA; Robert J., Harold, Doyle and Donald Bell of Lebanon, MO; and 1 sister, Mrs. R.P. huston of Poison, Montana.
