John 'Jack' Bell was born 4 March 1798 in North Carolina to Robert Bell and Katherine Gurley.

He was married 4 times and had a total of 6 children. He was married first to Susan A Wolf with 2 children James Bell and Harriet Elizabeth Bell.

He was married 2nd to Margaret Wolf, Susan's sister, children Susan A Bell, Richard Robert Bell, and Sarah Margaret Bell

He was married 3rd to Sarah Ann Gilmore on 25 NOV 1851[1] with 1 child Amy M Bell

He was married 4th to Louisa Boykin Hargrove on 24 Jan 1873. he was 70 and she was 58. Louisa's daughter Elizabeth was married to John's son James[2] He died on 21 OCT 1882 in Carvers Creek, Cumberland, North Carolina [3] at age 84.

He is buried in Bell-King-McNeil Family Cemetery Fayetteville Cumberland County North Carolina, USA
