Biography

In 1851, he is in listed in his parents' household. His birthplace is Crieff, according to the Ancestry.com transcriptions.

In 1861, there is an Alexander Bell, born Crieff, 1845 listed as a servant/agricultural laborer in Dunblane, Perth in the Finlayson household. Note: there was a Thomas Finlayson, a bookmaker, listed as a lodger in the Bell household in 1851 and there may be some relation here.

In 1871, he is back in his father's household in Crieff, and is listed as a coachman.

In 1881, there is a single Alexander Bell living alone in Crieff, listed as a general laborer, and born in 1845.
