William married Elizabeth JEFFREY on 29 May 1831 in Corstorphine, Midlothian, Scotland (at the local Church of Scotland).[2] The couple had at least three children (see below).
In the 1841 UK census he was recorded as residing in Blackhall, parish of Dean, Edinburgh, Scotland.[3]
He was recorded as a “quarrier”.[3][4] He probably worked in Craigleith quarry which is on the edge of Blackhall.[5]
William died on 8 August 1851 at 29 Stafford Street, Blackhall.[4]
