REMEMBERED AT: Old Parish Kirkyard (Church Street) Stranraer: In the memory of John MACMEIKAN, Esquire, Princess Street, Stranraer. Who died 1st April 1849 aged 89 years. And of Mary BELL, his spouse, who died 11th June 1867 at Chartley Castle, Staffordshire, also interred in the churchyard at Stowe, in the same County, aged 87 years. Also Alexander MACMEIKAN, their fourth son, died 18th July 1822 aged 6 weeks. Also Captain Hugh MACMEIKAN their second son, who died 6th December 1873 at Melbourne, Victoria, aged 57 years.
