- Donald was the son of James W.B. & Kathleen M. Bell.
- He served in Australian Army in World War II. Service No. NX82598. His Death Notice reads:
- BELL, Donald Chisholm - May 10, 1977 (suddenly) at his residence and formerly of the Dubbo district, dearly beloved husband of Mollie and loved father and father-in-law of Jill and Brian Larking and adored grandpa of Leisa and Katrina. Privately cremated May 12, 1977." He has a Memorial at Northern Suburbs (East Terrace 1, Wall 4).
