Biography

Ada Mae Bell was born June 19th, 1874. She was the daughter of Thomas Bell and Mathilda Roethke. [1]

Ada M. Bell, 18, resident of Saginaw County, and Emerson Everly Huggard, 20, resident farmer of Ingersoll Township, were married by Minister of the Gospel A. M. Bryant on October 9th, 1892 in Lees Corners, Midland, Michigan. The marriage was witnessed by Walter D. Beber of Swan Creek and Miss Bessie Day of Fremont, both townships in Saginaw County, Michigan. [2]

Ada and Emerson had the following children, all in Mount Haley Township:

  1. a stillborn infant in 1893,
  2. Emerson Pearl, born May 23, 1895
  3. Ina Mae, born June 19, 1897
  4. Clifford James, born May 11, 1899
  5. Clarence Leroy, born Nov 22, 1901
  6. Harry Wilbur, born October 29, 1904
  7. Beaulah Wave, born December 23, 1906
  8. Cecil Orly, born April 24, 1909
  9. Ruby Bell, born December 15, 1911
  10. Opal Elva, born February 16, 1915
  11. Chester "Chet" Arthur, born August 13, 1918

Ada Mae Huggard, 73, passed away December 18th, 1947 of Chronic mycarditis due to hypertension in Phoenix, Arizona. Her death was reported by her son, Harry.[1] She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Saginaw, MI.[3]
