Margaret was born on the 4 November 1856 at 4.00 am at the top of Gray Street in the Village of Broughty Ferry, near the City of Dundee, Monifieth, Forfar, Angus, Scotland[1]. Her parents were Joseph Bell and Catherine Gray.

Marriage

Robert (Lumsden) marries Margaret (Bell) on the 19 November 1880 at 10 Union Street, in the Village of Broughty Ferry, situated four miles east of the City of Dundee, in the Parish of Monifieth, in Forfar, Angus, Scotland.

Margaret appears in the Census of 1861 living with her mother Catherine (Gray) and siblings Jean Ann and John (Bell) at Lang Lane, Village of Broughty Ferry, west of the Town of Dundee, Parish of Monifieth, Forfar, Angus, Scotland[3]. At the time of the Census of 1871 she is out earning a living as a General Servant to Master Cabinet Maker (employing 15 men), Matthew (Deas); Matthew's sister, Christian (Deas) and their niece, Margaret (Anderson). They are also living in Gray Street, in Broughty Ferry, near the Town of Dundee, Parish of Monifieth, Forfar, Angus, Scotland[4].

The Census of 1881 brings good news in that Robert (Lumsden) has married Margaret (Bell) and they live with their daughter, Catherine Bell (Lumsden) at 75 Watson Street, in the City of Dundee, District of St. Andrew, Forfar, Angus, Scotland, United Kingdom[5].

Death

Margaret (Bell) passes away on the 28 December 1884 at 4.45 pm at Brown Street, in the Village of Broughty Ferry, near the Town of Dundee, Parish of Monifieth, Forfar, Angus. She was 28 years old and dies from Diabetes Mellitus. Her husband Robert (Lumsden) was present at the death and informant[6].
