She was born on 22 May 1873 in Mount Prospect, Victoria, Australia and her parents were John Bell and Jane Collin.
Nancy Bell married on 30 Nov 1904 at her parents home to John Stephens Tinney. She had no children of her own but brought up her four step sons and later two nieces who were orphaned - the daughters of her brother Thomas.
After the death of her husband, John, she continued to live for a few years at 4 Haddon Street in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. She found the cold winters there difficult and moved to Cairns Avenue in Newtown, Geelong, Australia. Later she lived with her niece, Mary Briggs at 21 Villamanta Street in Geelong West, Australia.
She passed away on 07 Nov 1956 at the Queen Elizabeth home in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. She was cremated at Fawkner Crematorium and her ashes were interred in the Garden Of Remembrance #2.[1]
