Published histories (particularly of the Jewett family) give her birthplace as Western (now Warren) Massachusetts. The 1850 census shows Massachusetts overwritten with Vermont, but I believe that is an error. However, I haven't found birth records for her or her siblings yet. Some other trees have Warren, Connecticut or Warren, Rhode Island, which I feel are definitely incorrect. Several published works mentioning Patty are in the book search on FamilySearch, though many seem to repeat what was in earlier works, and I'm not sure what the original source was (perhaps town records that are not yet available online). She was referred to as "of Western" at the time of her marriage to Osee Matthews.
