Ireland Native
Robert Bell was born in Ireland.

Robert was born 21 Feb 1795 and lived at Dunmore, Lissan, County Tyrone. [1]

With wife Peggy Jackson, his children included Robert, James, Jackson, Mary Ann, George and John.[1]

Robert was one of the founding members of the Claggan Presbyterian church erected in 1846. The other founders were Robert Crooks of Claggan, William Jackson of Crievagh, and James Bell of Dunmore. [2]

Robert passed away 28 Nov 1888 at Dunmore, County Tyrone. He was a farmer "age 91", widower. Attended by David Bell, nephew, Dunmore. [3]

Research Notes

Griffith's Valuation 1860 has for Dunmore: Robert Bell sen. 12+3+8 acres; Robert Bell jun. 1+5+5 acres. There were also Thomas A. Bell, George Bell, William Bell, John Bell, Thomas Bell sen.

There were two Robert Bell of Dunmore in the 1827 Tithe Applotment Book. They were known as "red" and "white".

There are two death records for Robert Bell of Dunmore too. The other is Robert Bell (abt.1794-1873). But I am not sure I have these two death records the right way around.

This profile's Robert Bell did have a nephew called David Bell (whom we see as the death attendant on the 1888 death record) but we could not rule out that the 1879 death record also had such a nephew.

MyHeritage tree of P Caughey gives Robert as the uncle of James Bell

Civil death record 10 May 1870, Anne Bell of Dunmore, dies age 59, farmer's wife, inf. Robert Bell, Dunmore. (RootsIreland - mistranscribed as Dunman). Not clear whose wife she was.
