I'm stuck on the Bell family line. I'm able to get back to my 2nd great grandfather, David Harvey Bell 1824-1896, likely born in Washington Co., Pennsylvania, died in Butler, Butler, PA. His wife is Nancy E. Vought 1826-1898, both buried in North Cemetery, Butler, PA. Looking for siblings and parents of David Harvey Bell.

Hello! I just found your profile after recently joining WikiTree. I have compared trees after seeing you were a potential DNA match and found you are my 5th cousin 1x removed. We both descend from Peterman "Peter" Hardman and Charlotte Lazier/Leazer, whose father was Yost Leise/Leazer. I have a huge tree on Ancestry if you ever want to take a look.

Hi D,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

Thank you so much. I'll check out the upgrade and hopefully get started entering family members. Every time I see 'upgrade' on a site, I figure there's a cost involved so I appreciate you pointing out that there's no charge.

Thank you, Dawna

Hello Ginny,

I've been spending hours looking at the "Bell" genealogy names trying to see if there's a connection of any kind. I decided to join WikiTree so that I might add some Bell names to the mix of 30k or so that are already there and see if I get any bites and clues for my own tree. I'm not sure how to go about adding in names or making the tree. Can I do that as a Guest? Thanks for your help. Dawna Bell

As a Guest, you cannot add family members - you are welcome to explore the site and do some limited things. If you upgrade to FamilyMember (completely free) you can then begin to add your ancestors. The Upgrade link is on both your profile and navigation pages. Just click that, answer a few questions and click Save. Once you have upgraded, a Greeter will post another message to your profile page that contains a link to a lot of useful information about how to use WikiTree.

I hope you will upgrade - this is a great website with many people here who are always happy to help when you have questions.
