Elizabeth Bell was born about 1807 in the Cherokee Nation (East). She was the daughter of John Bell, a white man and Charlotte Adair, a Cherokee. [1] Elizabeth married George Washington Candy, also Cherokee, in 1829. They were the parents of John, Maria [2] , Samuel, Charlotte, Martha, and Juliette. The family was Removed to Indian Territory and settled in the Flint District. [3] Elizabeth died in 1848. [4]
