John was born in 1825. He was the son of John Bell and Eliza Morrow. He passed away in 1874 and is interred at Heywood Cemetery, Heywood, Victoria.
John emigrated from Co. Fermanagh, Ireland under the Bounty Immigrant Scheme. The family apparently sailed from Ireland to Scotland visiting family there. They then sailed from Leith, Midlothian, Scotland, on 29 May 1841, aboard the ship named Catherine Jamieson. He arrived at Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia on the 22 Oct 1841, with family members, consisting of father, mother, and three siblings. He is listed on immigration records as John, 15 years old. It is believed that older children from a previous de-facto relationship of father, John Bell, also emigrated from Ireland with the family.
John Bell Jnr died from the result of being thrown from his horse near Heywood on the 6th June 1874. See Trove article. [1]
