Biography

James had a wife name Sarah Kent Bell and was previously linked to her profile Kent-3599.

James Bell Jr son Samuel Bell was connected to Bell-6421 but on Bell-14153. Samuel was listed as James's son on Bell-14153 profile and has been determined that both Bell-6421 and Bell-14153 are the same James Bell Jr and needed to be merge, so I merge them.

This family is known as the Stone Church Bells. Not that that is written in stone however. There were intermarriages between the LGB and STB families. The progenitor of this group was William b 1685. Much more at the rootsweb family research pages. See sources below.

This James Bell (Bell-6421) was married Sarah Kent and has nothing to do with Agnes Nancy Hogshead (1734-1787) who was married James E Bell of Long Glade (1733-1783). I don't know why Agnes Nancy Hogshead is being meniton on Bell-6421 profile.

Apologies! Even with the warnings about the many James Bells in basically the same place/time!

I think I'll start tomorrow with fresh eyes.

"WeRelate" does show a daughter Rebecca for Agnes, and since Agnes had a sister Rebecca that makes sense. And then says that Rebecca Bell married John McFarland, which is what I was starting from. Rebecca's father was some James Bell, will work from that. Thanks to all.

Possible candidate for wife? Agnes Nancy Hogshead:

With a daughter candidate, Rebecca (1770-1816), who marries a John McFarland (McFarland-4196)?
