Biography

I spent my first seven years living at Tennyson, on the coast of the Adelaide plains. My parents built their own home at weekends. Dad came from a family of masons and building contractors, which meant he had experience and knowledge in this area. I began Primary School in 1948, the year that my beloved Grandmother died. At 5 years old I had to catch a bus to Grange with several older children, and follow them to reach the Grange Primary School, at the east end of Jetty Street. The school is still there, but has new buildings where the oval and sandhills were situated. Captain Sturt's Cottage is situated near the school, on the banks of the Port River outlet, which runs to West Beach. (I think)

Thanks for the comment on my page regarding the Gill family. Most of the information I have is from my mother's research. She is also named Beverley, and stopped researching some years ago due to failing eyesight. All research is equally valuable, I feel. She spent many hours connecting people via BDM records, but didn't have the little details that you describe as to why families may have moved as they did. Thanks again.

You're very welcomed. I believe if no one responds to one of your merges, you can complete it - but I do not know the time delay.. (ex. 30 days??) these and others can be found by clicking 'Find' and then 'Pending' Merges :)

I hope you had a Happy New Year Holiday! Char...

Hi Beverly,

Thanks for your hard work on WikiTree. I look forward to seeing if our ancestors cross paths. Can you tell me what sort of sources you mainly use the information on the profiles you have created? We have created a help page for WikiTreers and we are always looking for more sources to list there. Here is what our Sources help page says. It has lots of ideas: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

Thanks Beverley. I do have Smiths in my tree but unconnected to your I think!
Welcome Bev. All people have a Wiki ID. If you search for William BROOKER you will find Jane/Jean , cannot remember how I entered her and add W. H. Brooker as a son and you are on your way with your own Tree. It hints you on entering if Wiki have a match. Don
