Marie Josephine was a minor when she married Michel Lejeune (1804 - 1860) in a civil ceremony in 1822,[4] which was blessed at St. Landry Catholic Church on 20 April 1824 in Opelousas, Louisiana.[5][2]

Their known children were:

Another transcription done by a church secretary and posted at Josephine's memorial on Find a Grave says the date of birth was August 1803, and the baptism, at 3 months, was 17 Nov. 1803.
