Mary (Bellenden) Campbell was a member of aristocracy in the British Isles.


Born in 1685 [1]Mary Bellenden was daughter of John Bellenden [2]and his wife, Mary Moore. [3][1] In 1716 she was appointed a maid of honour to Caroline, Princess of Wales.

In 1720 she married John Campbell, son of John Campbell and his wife, Elizabeth Elphinstone[3][2] [4] and bore him 5 sons and a daughter.[2][1]

Mary died 18 December 1736. [3]

Mary may have been born 4 May 1685, Argyllshire, Scotland Her surname at birth probably ought to be changed to Bellenden since the family name was changed from Kerr to Bellenden by the previous generation.

Bellenden-3 and Kerr-888 appear to represent the same person because: Bellenden and Kerr are alternate family names. Thus, John Kerr was also known as John Bellenden. Confusing, no?
