George Belshaw was born in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire, England.
George Belshaw was a pioneer settler in Oregon.
George Belshaw was involved in the westward expansion of the USA (Oregon Trail). See Trails and Wagon Trains.

George was born 14 November 1815 in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire, England. He was the son of George Belshaw and Elizabeth Archer. [1]

George immigrated from England with his parents and siblings. They departed Liverpool, England and arrived in New York City 22 May 1834.[2]

He married Candace McCarty 24 January 1843 in Lake County, Indiana. [3]

George was the captain of a wagon train that left Lake County, Indiana 23 March 1853. They arrived at Fort Laramie 17 June with 26 wagons and 43 men in his party. They arrived at The Dallas, Oregon on 10 September.

He passed away 28 November 1893 in Farmington, Washington.[4][5]
