Biography

Joseph is mentioned in his father's will.

Joseph Belt married 30 Sep 1793 in Baltimore Co., MD to Elnora "Ellen" Randall. Their children: Rebecca Chappel m. John Parrish, Benjamin R m. Angelica Parrish, Nicholas m. Rebecca Ann Parrish and Tabitha Parrish & Eleanor m. Thomas Willis. It's "unknown" when Joseph or Ellen died. 1800 census was destroyed and they are not found in 1810, 1820 or 1830 census so he may have died before 1810. The Parrish Family by Boyd 1935, pg. 330 and Ancestry Family Trees say that he was buried "near Dover". Depending on when he died, this could be Dover Cemetery (founded 1808). Ancestry Family Trees say that Ellen and the children moved to Fairfield Co., OH after Joseph died. (AFT-John Christian Tanner 1712-1784)
