John Castle Belt was born on March 4, 1870 in Bridgeton, Parke county, Indiana, United States, son of George Crouch Belt (1834–1904) and Matilda Angeline Evans (1837–1915).

In 1880, John was living in Parke, Indiana. [1]

John (21) married Sarah Ellen Adams (21) (born on March 17, 1870 in Parke County, Indiana; daughter of Harvey Marion Adams and America Indiana Seybold) on March 24, 1891 in Parke.[2] Their children were:

John (21) married S Ella Adams on March 24, 1891.[1]

In 1900, John C (30) was living in Raccoon Township, Parke, Indiana. [3]

In 1910, John C (40) was living in Raccoon, Parke, Indiana. [4]

John died on October 9, 1956 in Montezuma, Parke, aged 86. He was buried in Clear Run Cemetery.[5]
