Biography

Margaret Belwood was a member of the aristocracy in England.

Margaret was the daughter and heir of Sir Francis Belwood.

She was married to Robert Monson of Belton, Isle of Axholme and was made ex. to his will on his death circa 1555/56.

Robert and Margaret had 3 sons: Thomas, William and John.

There is an inscription on one of the gravestones in Belton Church that Margaret, wife of Robert Mounson, who died in 1570, was the sole heiress of Francis Belwood Esq.

She was buried in the church at Belton on 24th July 1570.
