John was baptized November 9, 1740 in The Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow in Westchester County, N. Y.

John came to NB as a UEL in 1783. His family spent the first winter in Washademoak. Along with his own family he had the children of his sister Mary Belyea and her husband Robert Williams who had died.

John m: Susannah Sniffin (abt 1744-1843.)
