The John Benbrigg, carpenter of Peasmarsh, Sussex, who married Selina Baylay on the 4th April 1843 at Rye, Sussex, England, gave his father's name as John Benbrigg, carpenter - NOT Edward Bembrig/Benbrigg a Butcher - However his father did die when John was young, and his step-father George Waters was a Carpenter. No baptism can be found for a John Bembrig/Benbrigg son of John Bembrig/Benbrigg baptised in that time period in that area. It is likely that John incorrectly gave the wrong father's name/occupation on his marriage.
