Ethelbert Bendall was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)

Ethelbert Bendall, son of William Henry BENDALL and Ann Winifred PIKE, was born on 23 Jan 1869 at Prospect Village. Adelaide, South Australia. ^{[1] [2]}

Ethelbert Bendall (Single, age 32, son of William Henry Bendall) married Fanny Lavinia Allen (Spinster, age 28, daughter of William Edward Allen) on 12 Nov 1901 at Christ Church, North Adelaide, SA. ^{[3] [4]} His 1st wife, Frances Lavinia, died suddenly in 1928.

A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Augustine's Church, Unley, on Monday evening, when Mr. Ethelbert Bendall and Mrs. Margaret May Violet Soward were married by the Rev. H. Wallace Bird. Mr. Charles Hewitt presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her son, Mr. E. C. Soward, was smartly gowned in beige lace, the bodice was sleeveless, and the flared skirt had an uneven hem. Mrs. Muriel Reid was matron of honor. The wedding ring was of platinum set round with diamonds.

Ethelbert (of North Unley) died on 13 Dec 1937, aged 63 years, at Adelaide, SA. ^{[7] [8]} His funeral was advised in the News (Adelaide, SA : 1923 - 1954) Tue 14 Dec 1937 Page 4 Family Notices: ^[9]
