Martin O. "Bud" Mayer, 70, Gillette, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home.
Bud was born June 4, 1939 in Fargo, ND. His parents are Freda (Bettger) Mayer & John Mayer. His biological father was Martin Bender.
He attended school in Washburn, and Bismarck, ND. He graduated from high school in Bismarck. Following graduation he attended technical school where he learned his life long trade of mechanics. He had the ability to repair anything from small engines to cars, trucks and tractors. He enjoyed what he did, but always took time off to go fishing. Martin & Catherine made their home in Washburn, ND. They moved to Gillette, WY in September of 2009 due to failing health and desire to be near family.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine & six children: Linda Coyle, Diane Mayer, Karen Baldwin, Renee Albert, Steven Haugen & David Mayer; twelve grandchildren: Hope, Teresa, Marie, Joshua, Jessica, Matthew, Dylan, Justin, Jacob, Conner, Neil, & Vince; two great-grandchildren: Katelyn & Angela; & five brothers, Ronald, Donavan, Richard, Robert & Daniel.
Bud was preceded in death by his infant son; his first wife, Lillian; his parents, Freda, John & Martin; his brother, Melvin & his sister, Florabelle, and his son-in-law, David W. Baldwin.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date in North Dakota.
