Mr. Bender was born in Herkimer, June 12, 1846, and had resided in Utica 30 years. He retired 15 years ago. He worked for the New York Central. Mr. Bender was a member of Bacon Post. G.A.R. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. S. E. Monro, Morris; Mrs. Herman Nicknish and Mrs. Henry Welty, Utica; five sons, Milton, Morristown, Howard, Raymond, Ralph and Herman, Utica, and a brother, George, Canastota.
