Daniel Benedict was a son of Benjamin Benedict and Mary (Platt) Benedict. [1]
The Barbour Collection of Connecticut Town Records does not list the birth of a son of this couple named Daniel.
The Genealogy of the Benedicts in America states that Daniel was born on 27 November 1716 in Ridgefield, Connecticut,[1] and the same information has been disseminated in the Edmund West data collections published on Ancestry.com.[2] and CT Births [3]
The Barbour Collection does record the birth of Samuel Benedict, a son of Benjamin Benedict and his wife Mary, on that same date (27 November 1716) in Ridgefield, Connecticut, followed by the birth of another son named Samuel on 29 June 1719.[4] Daniel's birth on that date may have been mistakenly recorded under the name "Samuel."
Daniel Benedict married Agnes in Ridgefield, Connecticut, on 13 February 1739/40 (new style year 1740).[5]. 1st Wife was Agnes Wallace [6]

He passed away in 1783.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Daniel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Daniel:
Benedict-1651 and Benedict-770 appear to represent the same person because: similar dates, wife is also duplicated, same sources, but there are unique sources on each profile to be merged. Already unconnected incorrect child that was linked to parents, causing the duplication.
