Benedict-3865 and Benedict-789 appear to represent the same person because: I believe Anna is the daughter of James benedict by his second wife Jemima. I believe her 1747 birth date should be 1757. This is confirmed by "Connecticut Births and Christenings, 1649-1906", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F7WC-9XT : 7 January 2020), Anne Benedict, 1757.

Based upon the biography posted for Rev. James Benedict, William was his last child born (14 July 1755) to first wife Mary Blackman -- if she died on 16 July 1757. Therefore Anna (b. 25 July 1757) and Joseph (b. ca 1760) could be by his second wife, Jemima. The 1747 birth for Anna is problematic as she has a brother John, born 24 April 1747.

Information found on Family Search, provided by John Christopher Dawson, would indicate that Mary Blackman died before June 1751 and the remaining children, including Anna, were born to the second wife Jemima.

I suspect that baptismal dates are possibly being used for birth dates, at least in some instances. ALSO NOTE: The Genealogy of the Benedicts of America by Henry Marvin Benedict (1870) says that Gideon Smith was not married to Anna Benedict but to SARAH BENEDICT who was born 6 February 1743. It says that Anna, with a birth date of 25 July 1757, married Calvin [Colville] Bradner.

Several hints in Ancestry.com indicate 25 Jul 1747 is Anna’s birthdate, not 25 Jul 1757. Anna had numerous siblings born between 1741 and 1755, but none after that. Also, Anna’s mother died 16 Jul 1757, which if true would make the July 1757 birthdate impossible. Suspect this is a simple typo.
