On 16 Apr 1910 at the time of the 1910 US Census, head of household Robert S. Bennatts (age 48, born in MI) was employed as a Proprietor of a Retail Grocery and living in a home he owned with a mortgage at 3909 North 34th in Tacoma, WA with his wife Hattie J. Bennatts (age 45, born in NY); son R. Ercil Bennatts (age 18, born in WA) employed as a Salesman at a Retail Grocery; son C. Earl Bennatts (age 17, born in WA) employed as a Salesman at a Retail Grocery; daughter M. Marguirete Bennatts (age 15, born in WA) employed as a Bookkeeper at a Retail Grocery; daughter Gladys Bennatts (age 13, born in WA); son William H. Bennatts (age 2, born in WA); and son Richard S. Bennatts (age 0, born in WA). Robert and Hattie had been married for 20 years; Hattie had given birth to 7 children, 6 of whom were still alive at that time. Both of Robert's parents were born in England; Hattie's father was born in New York, and Hattie's mother was born in English-speaking Canada. ^[1]
