This enslaved ancestor's profile has a preliminary Last Name At Birth (LNAB) until a surname can be determined. Please see the US Black Heritage Naming Conventions for Slaves before merging or changing the LNAB.
In 1847 Silva was seen on the probate inventory list of Thomas Bennehan.[1] She and the other enslaved persons on the list were to be sent to nephew, Paul C. Cameron, his niece, Margaret D. Cameron, and niece, Mildred C. Cameron.
In 1865 Silva is seen in the list of house servants at Stagville.[2]
The 1870 census shows a Silva married to Luke Cameron. This may be the same Silva.[3]
