Mary Ann Bennell (married name Donaldson) was born about 1871, daughter of Rebecca (Mercer) Bennell and Samuel Bennell.^{[citation needed]}

She married John Anstruther Davidson Donaldson in 1890 in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia.^[1] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

• Muriel Rebecca Anstruther Davidson Donaldson (1891–1920)
• Margaret Alexandra Donaldson (1893–1990)
• John Samuel Donaldson (1896–1917)
• Mary Ann Isabella Donaldson (1898–1996)
• Victoria Dorothea Donaldson (1901–1982)

Mary died on 25 August 1934 in Kew North, Victoria, aged 70 years.^[2] Her remains were buried at Heidelberg Cemetery (John's are also buried there).^{[citation needed]}
