Johann Peter Benner was born on November 24, 1730, the son of Margaretha and Rupertus. He married Anna Barbara Spiessen on November 19, 1764, in Dielkirchen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. They had two children during their marriage. He had two sisters.
