Biography
- Sarah Jane was born in 1861[1] at Kingsgate in the parish of St. Peter in Thanet, Kent, England. She was the daughter of William Benness and Emma Benness.
- By 1871, Sarah Jane and her siblings (except the eldest William Alexander and youngest Edith) were sent away to "orphanages". Sarah Jane and her sisters Susan, Amy and Louisa Alice were sent to The Royal Victoria Patriotic Asylum For Girls, Wandsworth Common, Wandsworth, Surrey, England, , with her younger brother Frederick William being sent to The Royal Patriotic Fund Boys School, East Hill House, Wandsworth, Surrey.
- She passed away in 1893.
