Ann Bennett was born in 1846 in Smethwick, Staffordshire, England to Barnabas Bennett and Frances Ann (Stephens) Bennett. Her birth was registered in Kings Norton, Worcestershire [the registration district for Smethwick] in the third quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Stephens.[1]
In 1851 Ann Bennett (age 4) lived at Rolfe Street in Harborne, Worcestershire [Staffordshire] with her father Barnabas (27, Bricklayer), mother Frances Ann (29), sister Esther (1), and three lodgers: John Jolls (26, Carpenter), John Parkes (20, Painter), and James Judge (29, Brewer).[2]

Ann Bennett married James Thacker in 1866. The marriage was registered in Kings Norton in the third quarter of the year.[3]
In 1871 Ann Thacker (age 25) lived at Frances Street, Great Albion Terrace in Aston, Warwickshire with her husband James (38, House Painter), daughter Frances E (3), and son Alfred J (2), in the household of her brother-in-law Thomas Thacker.[4]
In 1881 Ann Thacker (age 35) lived at Gt Frances Street, 14 Albion Terrace in Aston with her husband James (48, House Painter) and five children: Frances (14, Lacquerer), Alfred J (14[~12], Scholar), George (7, Scholar), Isaac (4, Scholar), and Ada (1).[5]
Ann's husband James Thacker passed away in 1888.
In 1891 Ann Thacker (age 44, Laundress) lived in Aston with six of her children: Frances E (23, Press Worker), George (17, Burnisher), Isaac (14, Errand Boy), Ada (12, Scholar), Albert (8, Scholar), and Thomas (5, Scholar).[6]
In 1901 Ann Thacker (age 54) lived in Aston Manor with four of her sons: George (27, Wire Cutter), Isaac (24, Brass Dipper), Albert (17, Iron Caster), and Thomas (15, Iron Polisher).[7]
In 1911 Ann Thacker (age 66) lived in Saltley, Warwickshire with her son-in-law Walter Cooper (31, Fitter Coach Building), daughter Ada Cooper (31), and two Cooper grandsons: Frank (5) and Reuben (1).[8]
Ann Thacker passed away in 1918, aged 72 years. Her death was registered in Aston in the first quarter of the year.[9]
