Mary Jane (Bennett) Young was born on 5 Jun 1858 in Wellington, New Zealand, daughter of Matthew Henry Lowbridge Bennett (~1828 - 1908) and Jane (Platt) Bennett (~1829 - 1905).
Mary married William Young (1850 - 1941). Their children were:
- Jane Bennett (Young) Melton (1878 - 1948)
- Euphemia (Young) Forbes (1881 - 1963)
- Mary Jane (Young) Thornhill (1890 - 1962)
- Florence Thelma (Young) Phelan (1903 - 1997)
- Annie Elizabeth (Young) Mackintosh (1907 - 1997)
- Kathleen Mary (Young) Chisholm (1913 - 2003).
Mary died on 7 Aug 1938 in New Zealand aged 80.
