Joseph was born on 11 Sep 1877 in Warrington, Lancashire.
Joseph married Mary Jones on 1 Jun 1901 at Cleggs Lane Methodist Chapel in Little Hulton, Lancashire. Joseph was 24 and a coal miner; he was widowed and was living at 98 Market Street, Kersley. Mary was 22, and hadn't been married before; she was a card room hand, and was living at 30 Croft Street, Little Hulton. Their fathers were named as Henry Bennett (pavior) and Henry Jones (coal miner). The witnesses were Edward Langford and Susannah Edwards.
Mary passed away in 1951 in St Helens, aged 72, and was buried on 15 May 1951 in St Helens Cemetery.
Joseph died in 1960 in St Helens, aged 84. He was buried on 20 Jul 1960, with his wife.
