Biography
Leila Bennett, daughter of Unknown Bennett and Mary Ann (Appley) Bennett, was born in July 1878 in New York. She and her mother appeared on the census of 29 June 1880 in the home of her grandfather and his wife at Rockland, Sullivan County, New York.[1] Her mother married Orrin Burdell Smith on 26 Nov. 1881 and Leila used the name Smith.
She married Garret M. Aitken, son of Robert J. and Catherine Aitken, about 1898.
She and Garret appeared on the census of 6 June 1900 in the home of his parents at Delhi, Delaware County, New York.[2] She and Garret appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 at Delhi, Delaware County, New York.[3]
Garret died on 14 July 1913 and she married Harry B. Brown on 28 March 1914.[4]
She and Harry appeared on the census of 14 Jan. 1920 at Delhi, Delaware County, New York.[5]
