Biography

Angie "Irene" Bennett was born on November 17, 1895, in Hudson, Ohio. She was the daughter of Edward Bennett and Catherine Foster. She married Jesse Farwell on November 19, 1915 in Summit County, Ohio. They had one son during their marriage. According to news articles, Jesse Farwell was a bigamist.

After divorcing Jesse, Irene then married Claude Bradford Ellsworth on June 5, 1918 in Summit County. and they had two children together.

Her third husband was Charles Henry Clayton, Jr. Irene died on August 22, 1955, in Ravenna, Ohio, at the age of 59, and was buried in her hometown.

Irene met Jesse Farwell and had a son Carl Edward. She later married Claude B. Ellsworth, who adopted Carl.

Ravenna - Mrs. Irene A. Clayton, 59, of 549 N. Diamond st., died Monday in Robinson Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born in Hudson, Mrs. Clayton had lived in Ravenna 35 years. She was a member of the Eagles Auxillary.

She leaves her husband, Charles H.; a son, Carl Ellsworth of Kent; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Wood of Ravenna and Mrs. Flora Moskal of Rootstown; two brothers, George Bennett of Ravenna and Curtis Bennett of Stow; two sisters, Mrs. Murl Forsythe of Glenwillow, O. and Mrs. Deith Hanson of Pittsburgh, and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
