Biography

John Elwood Bennett was born on August 18, 1893 in Stratford, Coos, New Hampshire, USA. He was the son of James Bennett and Melvina Stone.

He enlisted in World War I in August, 1918. He was discharged only two months later.

Private John Elward Bennett served with Battery B, 26th Field Artillery.

He passed away from pneumonia on October 21,1918 in Camp McClellan, Armiston, Calhoun, Alabama, USA.

Burial was initially in Haverill, New Hampshire and later moved to Lary Cemetery in Gorham, New Hampshire.
