Biography
Opal Violet Bennett was born in Summers County, W.Va., a daughter of Oliver S. Bennett and wife Caldonia Vest.
She married William Phillip Gross. Mr. Gross was born 28 June 1889 at Pemberton, W.Va., a son of Samuel Harvey Gross and wife Nancy Albetive Meadows. He was a World War I veteran, had operated a barber shop for years and was a school custodian at the time of his death. Mr. Gross died 26 Dec 1963 while at work at Beaver Elementary in Raleigh County, W.Va. He is buried in the Worley Cemetery on Mt. View Road near Jumping Branch in Summers County, W.Va.
