Note N37She was born in Jasper county where her father William was living in 1850. There is no Bennett family listed in Hancock County, MS in 1850. There is no 1860 Hancock County census. She has a sister named Alemeda Jane, and she named her 2nd daughter Almeda Jane. There was a reference to her as "Rebecca" in some notes, but that was her sister, who also lived in Hancock Co., MS (Nicholson). Rebecca married Morris Blackwell. Her son William is living 10 doors away in 1900. Her brother, James O Bennett, is 61 when living with her in 1900. He was 11 in 1850.


In the 1880 LA Census, St. Tammany Parish, Honey Island taken June 1, 1880 it shows Wm. Bennitt 5 Servent, born in MS. This is James Bennett's son.


According to the Hancock County, MS Historical Society (P.O. Box 3356, Bay Saint Louis, MS, 39521) The grave of Mrs. William Y. Miller was relocated from Gainesville site #A-104 (Gainesville Baptist Church Cemetery) to New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune. Site #A-105 was William Y. Miller; Site #A-103 was James Earl Miller


There was an Elizabeth Miller who patented 79 & 55100 acres of land around the NicholsonFlat Top area in 1906. This was not the same woman.
