William Henry Bennett was born in 1855 to Convict Thomas Bennett and Mary Ann Lloyd the daughter of a convict herself.
Listed as a 39 year old widower on his marriage certificate with Eliza Collett on the 12th of June 1895. His First wife was not known when I first added this record, but I can safely add information about his unfortunate first wife, Margaret Bradburn now:
William Henry Bennett married Margaret the daughter of George Bradburn and Ann Livingston in about January 1882. They would go on to have two children; Maggie and William between then and her unfortunate death in June 1885.
My Great Grandfather William Bennett was listed as a labourer on his marriage certificate; when he married my great Grandmother Eliza in June 1895. They would go on to have at least 6 children, including my Grandmother Ethel between 1897 and his death in 1931.
William passed away on July the first 1931 while he was resident at 57 Terrace Road, Dulwich Hill, Sydney, New South Wales aged 75 years. One year after my mother Heather Carter's birth. He is buried at the Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
William Henry Bennett's Great Grandson Danny Stapleton has confirmed a DNA match on his maternal side through the Bennett line in July 2018.
