Biography

Johnie Bennetts was born on 4th April 1898 at Sellicks Hill, South Australia, Australia. He was the son of John Bennetts and Dorothy Dunstan. ^{[1] [2]}

Johnie enlisted in the AIF during World War II, Service Number S65920. He enlisted on 5th April 1942 and was discharged on 19th October 1945. He served in the 4th Battalion VDC. ^[3]

Johnie Bennetts married Barbara Florence Laier on 27th September 1924 in the Baptist Church at Morphett Vale, South Australia, Australia. ^[4] Their marriage was announced in "The Advertiser" on Wednesday 24th September 1924.

• "Laier—Bennetts.—The marriage of Barbara Florence, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Laier, of Morphett Vale, to John, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Bennetts, of Morphett Vale, will be celebrated at the Baptist Church, Morphett Vale, on Saturday, September 27, at 3:30 p.m. All relatives and friends cordially invited." ^[5]
