Biography

Abraham Benoit was born about 1709. [1] He was the son of Pierre Benoit and Elisabeth LeJuge.

At age 23 he married Angélique VIncent age 16, daughter of the late Pierre Vincent and Jeanne Trahan on 28 Sept 1732 at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia.[2][1]

He married Marie Josèphe Lejeune, daughter of Germain Lejeune and Marie-Anne Trahan, and widow of Pierre Serrier, on Sept 21, 1751 in Isle Saint Jean. [3][1]

They were listed on the 1752 La Roque census at Anse-au-Matelot, Isle Saint-Jean.[4]

He passed away at sea around 13 December 1758 as a result of the sinking of the Duke William.[1]

    Marie Magdelaine, aged 12 years.

    And in stock, two oxen, two cows, two heifers, five sows, and five fowls. The land upon which they are settled is situated as in the last instance, and was given to them verbally by Monsieur de Bonnaventure. On it they have made a clearing of two arpents.
